Thin-walled crucibles
Crucibles for hand fusing of precious metals. Fully resistant to thermal shock. No impurities. Neutral to metals and aggressive environments.

Thin-walled ceramic crucibles for hand fusing precious metals — gold, silver, platinum and their alloys. Made from SPECIAL CERAMIC, our pure-oxide formulation with no fillers or binders, they resist thermal shock up to 2000°C without cracking and stay chemically neutral to molten metal, so pours come out clean with no crucible-side contamination. The thin wall heats and cools fast — exactly what a jeweller's bench needs for repeated small-batch melts. Ten sizes, Nº0 to Nº9, from 25g to 420g capacity, cover everything from a single ring repair to a small batch cast.

What temperature can these crucibles withstand?
Up to 2000°C, with full resistance to thermal shock from repeated heating and cooling cycles.
Which metals can I melt in a thin-walled ceramic crucible?
Precious metals and their alloys — gold, silver, platinum — thanks to SPECIAL CERAMIC's pure-oxide, contamination-free surface.
What sizes are available?
Ten sizes, Nº0 to Nº9, from 25g to 420g capacity, so you can match the crucible to the pour.
Ceramic or graphite — which crucible should I use?
Ceramic crucibles like these are the cleaner choice for precious metals — no carbon pickup, ideal for hand fusion. Graphite crucibles (see our thick-walled line) handle higher mechanical stress and suit base metals and heavier pours better.
